Guided by this verse and hadith, the Association has been promoting Islam and providing educational and welfare assistance to Muslim converts and the general public in Singapore through various programmes and da’wah activities. We disburse zakat according to the Quranic injunction in Surah At-Taubah verse 60, which stipulates the asnaf (categories) deserving of zakat disbursement. We have in place a mechanism that monitors the aid requirements and the deservedness of these asnaf.

"Alms for the poor and needy, and for those employed to administer (the funds); and those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled (to Truth); for those in bondage and in debt; in the cause of Allah and for the wayfarer; (thus is it) ordained by Allah, and Allah is full of knowledgeand wisdom."  (Surah At-Taubah, 9:60)

Tax Relief
All Zakat payment received by the Association shall be issued with our Official Zakat Receipt. The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore recognises this payment for the purpose of Personal Income Tax Relief.

Zakat Fitrah
We also collect Zakat Fitrah throughout the month of Ramadhan on behalf of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS).
